It was hot but it is the day of the month for me to get my prescription refills .. Kookie so happy barking on the way to town but later she ran out of gas.
Got a mower part from Menards, but struck out finding a tire for the Wrangler.
Took our time getting up the trail then sat in the shady part just before the top waiting for the sun to get lower.
I took some pics for a couple of kids n gave em a couple of the sunglasses so they wouldn't squint.

Thought I would get her a treat at the dollar store. Standing in line she really started barking so some guy held my stuff n I went out, a girl giving her pets. I told her we were at the park, then she told me I had taken her pic around 2012.. hmmm

Kookie n me made it to the John Glenn astronomy park.
Took a pic of the guys n one of their scopes n met a good girl we knew from Hocking hills photo adventures.
I think when I got off 33 road construction, my tire got punched.. any way after leaving the park, I heard the tire thumping .. in a bad place so I kept driving to a safe place.
The spare was brand new, just have to get another new one the same and put the used front drivers side on the tail gate.
Couldnt get a phone signal, couldn't get the tire tools out the back n these guys came along to rescue us.
They called the auto club for me and waited till the truck come along
Kookie got lots of pets.. n before taking the girl to her car.. you know me, had to ask em for a pic with Kookie
Oh yeah, they happened to know Kelly.. used to be a ranger girl that I met taking pics :)
You can see the front tire... our big adventure ..
Maybe .. make it to Mt P 2day 29th .. but thinking how to take care of the tire n a couple other things

I completed another orbit around today and went to the bank to cash a check I got last year, then out to the park where Kookie made some new pals n I captured some pics.

Stuff to do today but me n Kookie might come out the 23d. This is the day of the lightning bug. Most of the pics I take are posted on blogs, fb but a fraction I post on my google map.

I was in town early so I stopped at the horsy riding spot... I used the 600 mm but the 300mm would have been as good.
I set the camera for 5 pics quickfire, waited till they got to the barrel .
Other trick, once focused I turned it on manual so the camera didnt have to think I don't know any of em but if I did I have a great camera they could use

I finished all my workout and had bikes to drop off... ( some nice people sold me w nice ones for just $30 around Christmas n Kookie can't ride hers yet)

Just as soon as we got out of the jeep I was loading stuff to carry to the top n these guys wanted to give Kookie pets.. said they were from Akron .. the tire making hub, I worked there many moons.. tree climber :)

Didn't do my workout, I goofed off with a video I captured, thinking some of you guys might wanna capture one n included things not to do.
Video mistakes
In order to capture a great sunset, the clouds have to be in a good mood. I have climbed up the trail lots of times with anticipation but..
I placed the camera on the rail (supposed to keep from going out n sit on the edge of the cliff 🙃)
I put sleep mode at 30 minutes
When I guessed it was about 25 minutes before the top of the sun would sink behind the horizon, I moved the top left of the frame to include the sun and the bottom right just below the horizon.
I used the 300 mm to make the sun larger.
I let it run while I walked around capturing pics of visitors.
I found BIG mistakes when I uploaded it to the computer.
People were leaning and bumping the rail.. big vibration.
The camera continued to attempt auto focus, once in focus I should have switched to manual focus.
When moving the camera around to frame it, it was like an earth quake.
Using Movie Studio Platinum 12.0 (less than $50)
I trimmed off the jumpy start, muted the sounds cars, people. dogs barking... and created a silent video 28 minutes long.
Most people are not about to watch a long video and to see the cool cloud movement you have to shrink the whole thing to a much shorter clip.
After I figured the length I went to Google FREE music library to find music that would last that amount of time

Didn't do my stuff, plotted all day of the great pics and the promised sunset but the clouds tricked the weather man again.
I had a pic of Mt Pleasant on the phone holder but someone took it so I just typed this up and pasted it on.
A pretty good day.. just need to have a Kookie sitter to hang out with her in the shade below.
When I got home, my first lighting bug siting this year .. dancing outside my window with a crescent moon appearing through the tree branches.
Saw a helecoptor flying by on Mt P. Guessing it came from the hospital taking someone to Columbus.

This girl was sitting with her pup earlier, but at the time the sun was still bright. After waiting a bit I asked her to move up a bit to eliminate the rail from the pic. I had to use the magic trick to get her pup to pay attention

I moved the phone holder over on the pipe. I did a sunset from here but with people climbing on the post it got lots of vibration.
This is a bogen tripod head .. sturdy as a rock when on a solid base.
If it were set on the pipe, I figure people would walk or stand in front of it while capturing a sunset.

First time I made it this month but fixed up the selfie gadget and the park dwellers were using it a bunch
On the way up the trail I spotted two girls n got them to get up on the ledge along the trail and took their pic with their camera. (figured out how to zoom with a cell phone :)
These guys were coming up too and when I got to the north end I took a couple pics of them.
At that time of the day, the sun going down bright n got a lot of sunflare so I did another here. I knew there would be lots of squinting but just happened to have the Amazon sunglasses I bought for less that a dollar a pair :)

I moved the camera holder with the slots to the metal post. This is just a pic of a cheap tripod I tried out.
Someone took the pic off the previous version so I just put text on the instructions.
After a few people tried it out, it got lots of use.

Group pics on Mt P
In lots of pics I have taken I think some of u guys might fit right in. I bet they would welcome you if you just contact them. I would like to tag a couple of you but.. here is their group
HIKE AT MOUNT PLEASANT, JUNE 3RD 1 PM
It would be a bit early for me but if I were taking pics, before they started I would have them over by the water fountain between the fence and road and place them in solid shade so light beams did not spot them.
Later I would have my big telephoto in the fairgrounds to capture their gang on Mt P.
Other than the attraction of the view from Mount Pleasant, I think some of you guys might fit right into this group .
Looks like a high school group but to make it super, they should team up with all the schools in Fairfield County.
