Didn't even begin the exercises today, I had a big vision of capturing ice skaters n snow sledding but the day began below zero.
I saw a hockey guy on the ice and hoped to capture em on the side where the sun was on his face... had em skate around n tried to catch him at the right point.. a bunch of bad shots and then a couple ok shots. The top shot then the 2nd pic, same one but cropped to make him more visible.

Super cold I wasn't gonna go on top but with no victims... err I mean models :) I saw these guys on top. I broke my rule.. don't take pics of people under trees with shadows n light but moving em would not tell the true pic.. then I got em to stand up for a shot of the city in the background .

These girls came out for a photo shoot, I had the urge to tell em stuff but they were cold n I don't figure most people pay attention to me... but I did get a pic of her taking pics, if you know her, bet she would like to copy that shot

Can't get close to the desk to type, Kookie wont move.
Finished all my exercises n saw the sunny sky, I guess I am like a moth drawn to a flame when I know there will be a great sunset.
I asked Alexa what time for the sunset n knew there was a short time.
Well below freezing Kookie had her head out the window barking on the way to town. I thought capture some ice skaters first then to the top.. None there.
Thought I would go to the top n see how many people were goofy enough to walk up.. well below freezing, when I got there, just one with his dog ...hmmm
Just in time to capture the sun setting, I was cold n shaky but.

On the way down I saw some people on the ice covered pond... so I hurried n asked this guy for a pic of him n his little girl . I remember walking to downtown from Utica when I was a kid with my dad, must have bought a sled? Any way a nice memory 🐶

Before leaving I asked this family for a pic on the pond. It was dark but the gazebo n fountain visible in the back. To me this is the kind of pics families keep .. "remember that time when we were little n went out to the pond "

I had the buzzer on Kookie to keep her under control, last time I was here, she pulled me down n knocked the stuffing's out of me.
Other than capturing pics for my photo safaris n capturing memories for visitors, when Kookie gets pets, it makes a great day for both of us.

Since 2010 we have had the Penni family, TheMick n Charley as visitors. I am never ready .. lucky to have clothes on if it is not cold. n Rita's family, Doughy n Mark.. helped me remove a couple trees.
I had visions of setting up the tripod and doing a video of the ice skaters, Sunday might be a good day for that.. and capture some great stills of people skating.
I see photos on historic web pages with pics of people skating in the park.. beloved memories... are these in the making.
Came home n there was a black dog by the house. I tried to capture em n keep em to the owner claimed him but he bolted. I put some food out there n case he comes back.

Had to do a Kroger run n thought if I went there first I would not make it to the park, so to the park first.
Soon as I got there I saw a little tractor plowing snow off the pond, so I knew it was ready.

On the way down I saw people beginning to get out on the ice.. I thought great I have never captured any ice skating pics .. here is where the telephoto came in handy.. being a bit afraid of the virus we kept our distance n I captured a couple good shots.

Between taking pics of the skater girls n bench, Kookie pulled me down on my back... crunch it stunned me, I laid there for a few minutes to make sure I wasn't injured or dead .. then we got by the shoes.. I thought they were telling a story about winter adventures

These guys were pretty far away, don't think they saw, but if you know them, I bet they would love to have this pic of em running through the park in the winter of 2022 :)

First snow.. my 2022 selfie .. standing on Mt. P on the north end about a mile away is Forest Rose cemetery. That is where I went first to take pics of Mt. P.
I could drive part of the way then had to walk on over with the tripod n Kookie (self haircut.. guess I missed some spots )
Should have turned the flash to a higher power to bring out her eyes

Couldn't get Kookies pills last night, so back to town today then to Mt. P.
First I was gonna try out the 55-300 zoom n these guys were doing pics so I hurried.. n of course asked to add em to my photo safari.
Had the telephoto on n couldn't get back far enough.. guys on the left trying to get away from slobbers. What Kookie was thinking hmmm :)

Keep forgetting to get Kookie's meds. I saw it was gonna be sunny n thought Mt Pics then pills.
On the way up the path I saw a couple looked like they might be as old as me n thought I would wait to get a pic of em, but they never made it.
New camera first park dwellers I captured.. the sky was drab but I used flash to give good color saturation.
I did a couple of these guys and added effects in paint shop with one of em.

The next pups were my next victims. Before I took the first one I used the guy as the model and showed the girl the shadow on one side and by turning a little, the shadow was all gone.
They were doing a selfie with their camera n I took a couple for em. When the girl handed me the camera, ugh I was looking at my own mug.
I wanted to do another being higher looking down to get more of the ground below but.. it said depleted battery .. first day with the new Pentax.. not as good as the Sony A65 where I can see everything in the view finder.
No battery but I wanted to complete the pilgragimy by walking to the far end. I saw a girl n her pup n offered to take her pic with her camera but she didn't wanna.
Told me a sad thing n talked a bit.. off to Kroger to get the pills.. ugh too late, they closed at 5:00
I covered the windshield waiting for the 'big snow' . When it snows the sky is drab and poor color but after it snows and a sunny day follows, I think that will be the best time to capture our turf with a snow covered blanket (Tuesday by the forcast)

The third time on Mt P this year but the first time I got to capture some park dwellers for 2022
Just heading up n saw these guys from a distance, looked like the girl was carrying a Teddy Bear, then I thought it might be a puppy :)
Asked em for a pic as a guy was coming by to get out of the pic.. but I thought he belonged in the shot
How many people have had their pic taken by the old log, Got mama bear to turn a bit so baby bear could be seen, :)

Getting close to the top n saw these guys taking a pic and asked to get a pic of all of em together... almost got it right, fighting the shadows.. they had little dogs too and I included them when I took a couple with their cameras.

No one to take pics of, it was cold .. looks nice now but dont think I will make the pilgrimage today. I like it best when people r n my pics n Kookie gets pets.
I did a pic of Kookie, captured the sunset n saw a couple people on the track.. new years resolution .. hmmmm

It rained New years eve and then all day, so we went to town Jan 2nd for groceries and to return a camera.. gonna get another.
In town to Mt P we went, saw someone coming down.. no one there on top, on the way down there were some potential park dwellers but I didn't get to capture any of em.
The sky overcast n things were dull but fill in flash gave great color saturation to Kookie n made her eyes sparkle.
I did capture a nice pic of Kookie :)
